It's been a while
It has been a considerable time since i have updated this site. I have been really busy with work recently, an endless story i know. I have been however, developing a content management system on a home development server for a while now and am currently up to version 2 of the code and database structure.
I will be launching the site asap, (holidays coming up soon ...yay!) when the first stage of this is completed i will be inviting beta testers to help me iron out any bugs in the system.
more soon...
Drupal Version 5
Just noticed Dupal version 5 was launched today, when i get home from work i will be upgrading this site to the most current version.
Hopefully all of the same features and content on this site will not be affected, this may put back slightly the planned rollout of the band management system i mentioned in my pervious blog entry...though hopefully not.

Band Pages on the way
Hi Peeps, we will be opening up the site for band and artist profiles in the near future. This will be an automated procewss you will be able to do yourself without any intervention by site admin, other than to publish the profile.
You will also be able to update the profile and add events to our calendar, upload music, pictures and video as well....
Stay tuned as we will be opening this service very soon....ROCK~!
OPEN ID
A little while ago a mate of mine sent me a link to a site (http://www.openid.net).
The concept behind OPEN ID is that you have one logon for multiple sites, i think this is a fantastic idea and registered my 'OPEN ID' as soon as i went there.
I am going to add OPEN ID to the inner workings of this site as well, when i get a couple of hours to sit down and concentrate fully on the task.
So for those of you who do not have an OPEN ID yet, you should go to the site and register your desired name before someone else does.
Welcome to the 2007!!
Well this is clearly a late entry and probarbly one of the latest new years greetings in web history!! It is also an indication of how busy i have been recently...yup, flat out.
Things have been moving along steadily and due to the amazing weather we have been having here in Sydney, having a social life offline has really been a priority. Infact i have hardly had any time to myself over the last month or so.
2007, will bring a new perspective and direction for me. Firstly acting in a new role at work (very exciting) and secondly the oppertunity to start a band with a good friend of mine. Also i intend to get some great footage up from a trip to South America my wife and i took a little while ago, some great bits of footage and hope fully, if she lets me, i will put some of the fantastic photos my wife took while on our trek.
Bandwidth 2005 - Speaker catching on fire!
this is part of the last gig where a speaker caught fire you can hear the fire extinguishers at the end.
Water found on Mars - Alien Fishing trip anyone?
Well it would be pretty hard to have missed this one if you are even remotely familiar with the web, or watch tv.
It seems that NASA's Mars Global Surveyor has picked up what seems to be a massive trench carved into a Martian impact crater, the suspected cause?....water!!
It has been believed by many scientists that earlier in our solar systems life, Mars has water on it's surface. There have been many photos showing what have been described as flood plains, channels, etc.. on the surface of the red planet. Now for the first time it seems all this speculation and conjecture surrounding water and perhaps life on the dusty planet could be settled once and for all.
Bandwidth [The Event]
Bandwidth (the concept) started in 2003, we decsided to do a gig that had something special about it....live multitracked and video taped.
The first one was pretty good as it ended up being the closing event for Newcastle Music Week. Things got pretty busy for us so the project was pretty much put on hold, then in 2005 we held another event. We managed to do this one alot better than the first one and now have some great audio tracks to show for it (tracks are freely downloadable from this site).
What next? We will be making the video available for viewing very soon as well as putting up more audio tracks.
